SCHOLA ON EASTER SUNDAY

The Schola will sing two Easter Sunday Masses of the Day, at Saint John Chrysostom Church in Inglewood.   The musical invitatories will begin ten minutes before the Masses of 8:30am and 11:30am, Sunday, April 1, 2018.  Come early to secure seating.  Included will be Music by Mozart and Palestrina, as well as Gregorian and Taizé chant, and classic congregational hymnody.  Choirmaster will be Vicente Bastidas.   Cantrices leading the Congregation will be Christina van Ingen and Marilu Reyes.  Louinn Lota will sing the solo section of the closing anthem, "With Glad Alleluias," which has been composed for this Easter by the Founder-Director of the Schola, Fr. Ted Ley, SM, DMus, who will be Organist at the Masses.   The address of St. John Chrysostom Church is 546 Florence Avenue, Inglewood, California 90301.

Christmas Eve and Midnight Mass with the Schola

The Schola sings Christmas Midnight Mass at Saint John Chrysostom Church, 530 E. Florence Ave., Inglewood, CA 90301, with the Carols and Choruses beginning at 11:30pm, Saturday, December 24th.  

Included will be music by Victoria, J.S.Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Adolphe Adam, and Benjamin Britten, as well as carols, villancicos, and spirituals, and Gregorian chants of Christmas.  Featured will be sopranos Christina van Ingen, Louinn Lota and Tanya Greenewade; tenor Vicente Bastidas-Elizondo; and trumpeter Christopher Adachi.  Music will be under the direction of Mr. Bastidas, with Fr. Theodore Ley, SM, Ch.M, DMA, Schola Founder, at the Organ.  Most of the carol arrangements are a cappella and unique to the Schola.  Immediately prior to the Liturgy, baritone Aaron Colston will chant the Christmas Proclamation.  The carols and Liturgical Music will be in English, Spanish, German, French and Latin.  Cantrices leading the Congregation will be Christina van Ingen and Stephanie Ramirez.   Celebrant of the Eucharistic Liturgy will be the Pastor, Father Marcos Gonzalez, with priests of the Parish concelebrating.
